The effectiveness of plus-tree selection for yield

Forest Ecology and Management, 1994
Abstract In response to recent suggestions in the literature that plus-tree selection for yield in forest trees might in general be ineffective, the empirical information contained in 24 published reports was examined. It was found that progeny of plus-trees selected for yield traits tend to be faster growing than their controls.

Candidate Plus Tree Selection of Buchanania lanzan Tree in Central Region of Chhattisgarh

Environment and Ecology, 2023
Candidate plus tree selection is considered as an important and preliminary step in tree improvement program of a particular species. Plus tree selection is the first step to improve production and quality in forestry. In present study, 85 candidates plus trees of chironji showing good phenotype have been selected from different places covering three ...

Equivalence, Unambiguity, and Sequentiality of Finitely Ambiguous Max-Plus Tree Automata

International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2023
We show that the equivalence, unambiguity, and sequentiality problems are decidable for finitely ambiguous max-plus tree automata. A max-plus tree automaton is a weighted tree automaton over the max-plus semiring. A max-plus tree automaton is called finitely ambiguous if the number of accepting runs on every tree is bounded by a global constant and it

Using the Pilodyn Tester in Selecting Plus Trees

Northern Journal of Applied Forestry, 1988
Abstract The pilodyn tester was assessed in stands of black spruce, white spruce, and tamarack to determine its value in selecting trees of higher than average specific gravity. Trees were sampled from natural stands representative of areas where plus trees are selected.

Chinese Pronominal Coreference Resolution Using Decision Tree Plus Filter Rules

2005 International Conference on Natural Language Processing and Knowledge Engineering, 2006
With the advancement of natural language understanding (NLU), coreference resolution, as a main part of information extraction (IE), has received much more attention. For this task, either rule-based or statistics-based methods cannot meet the needs of large-scale text processing.

Chemical Composition of Foliage from Fertilized Plus Douglas Fir Trees and Adjacent Unfertilized Check Trees

Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1964
Abstract Shoots of the 1960, 1961, and 1962 growth were removed from two fertilized plus trees and two unfertilized adjacent check trees in April 1963. Each plus tree received 80 pounds of 16‐20‐0 ammonium phosphate sulphate fertilizer in April 1961, and 40 pounds of the same fertilizer in April 1962.
