Determination of Static and Dynamic Coefficients of Friction on Various Surfaces for Selected Haricot Bean Varieties

open access: yesLegume Science, Volume 8, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT When analyzing and designing equipment for postharvest handling, food processing, and storage, it is crucial to understand the coefficient of friction of legume crops on different structural surfaces. The article examines the effects of various treatments on the static friction coefficient and dynamic friction coefficient of Phaseolus vulgaris

Wind Turbine Blade Crack Detection and Assessment in Images Using Machine Learning

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT As the wind energy industry matures, inspection of wind turbine blades (WTBs) is shifting from a manual process involving rope access and grading of damage, towards unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) photography and artificial intelligence‐aided processing of data.

Evaluating Erosional Stability of Reconstructed Mine Landscapes Using Landform Evolution Models: Parameterisation and Decadal‐Scale Erosion Assessment

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, Volume 37, Issue 13, Page 9308-9322, 15 August 2026.
ABSTRACT Ensuring the long‐term erosional stability of post‐mining landforms remains a major challenge in open‐pit mining. Reconstructed landscapes must support the agreed post‐mining land use, such as cattle grazing in the Hunter region of southeastern Australia, requiring stable pasture and minimal soil loss.

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 15, 5 August 2026.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

Nano Carbon‐mesh with Excellent Bonding Performance via Hydro‐cage De‐shielding Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 44, 7 August 2026.
A hydro‐cage de‐shielding strategy transforms cellulose‐based films into a dragonfly‐wing‐like nano carbon‐mesh (NCM) adhesive through instantaneous carbonization‐polymerization. The resulting NCM‐plywood achieves exceptional wet shear strength (1.24 MPa at 63°C), exceeding Class II plywood standards, and retains 0.73 MPa after boiling‐water cycles ...

PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN UREA DAN MELAMIN PADA PEREKAT UREA FORMALDEHIDA TERHADAP EMISI FORMALDEHIDA DAN KETEGUHAN REKAT TRIPLEKS MERANTI

open access: yesJurnal Penelitian Hasil Hutan (Journal of Forest Products Research), 2017
The problem in using plywood bonded with urea formaldehyde (UF) is formaldehyde emission, especially in a room with limited ventilation. To reduce formaldehyde emission, the glue can be mixed with catching agent.

Supramolecularly Crosslinked Self‐Healable Polymer Hydrogels for Adaptive Energy Dissipation and Fragile‐System Protection

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
A biodegradable double‐network hydrogel combines boronate ester covalent bonds and supramolecular G4‐quartet structures to absorb impact energy and quickly self‐heal. The robust AGK hydrogel shows low rebound, high load‐bearing capacity (∼5.4 kg), and repeated durability, making it promising for protecting fragile items and sustainable shock‐absorbing ...
