Neural Network Models for Solar Irradiance Forecasting in Polluted Areas: A Comparative Study
Pollution‐aware hybrid ensemble model is proposed to forecast solar irradiance across eight diverse cities. The model integrates MLP, RNN, and NARX to handle varying atmospheric pollution levels. The model outperforms state‐of‐the‐art methods with enhanced accuracy and interpretability on standard solar irradiance data set.

Impact of land-cover layout on particulate matter 2.5 in urban areas of China
Urbanization in China is closely connected with ambient particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5). However, the potential for altering PM2.5 through the urban landscape characteristics is uncertain. In this study, we analyzed the urban PM2.5 pollution situation for

Auricularia auricula polysaccharides (AAP; 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg) protect against acute lung injury (ALI) by dose‐dependently remodeling the gut microbiota and modulating associated metabolic pathways via the gut‐lung axis, thereby enhancing pulmonary anti‐inflammatory and antioxidant capacity to ultimately prevent tissue damage.

Algal Blooms in Lakes Increase After Wildfire Smoke Events in the Contiguous United States
Temporary pulses of surface chlorophyll‐a are identified following wildfire smoke events in lakes and reservoirs across the United States. ABSTRACT Area burned by wildfire has increased in the contiguous United States and in many places globally in recent years, impacting communities and ecosystems nearby and even far downwind of fires. We examined the

Trends in Rheumatoid Arthritis Mortality Among Postmenopausal Women in the United States, 1999–2023
RA‐related mortality among U.S. postmenopausal women has markedly declined since 1999. Despite this overall progress, significant inequalities by race, region, and age highlight ongoing challenges in achieving equitable health outcomes. ABSTRACT Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disproportionately affects postmenopausal women, who are at an increased risk of ...

Since 1970, the General Physics Department of «Università degli Studi di Torino» has carried out a project research, on inorganic solid particulate matter. The special issue of Annals of Geophysics, published for Professor Giorgio Fiocco?s 70th birthday, gives us the possibility to make some important remarks on this topic, focusing on PM2.5.
