Flow cytometric phytoplankton concentration and optical properties across instruments and laboratories

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, EarlyView.
Abstract Flow cytometry measures the optical properties of individual cells and has become essential for enumerating and characterizing marine phytoplankton. Yet systematic comparison of measurements across instruments remains limited, hampering data comparison across laboratories and long‐term time series.

Chain‐End Grafting of RAFT Polyelectrolyte Macroligands to Stabilize Near‐Infrared‐Emitting Gold Nanoclusters

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Surface‐functionalized gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) are synthesized in situ by chain‐end grafting of RAFT polyelectrolytes at room temperature directly in water. It leads to highly stable polymer‐AuNCs nanohybrids emitting near‐infrared photoluminescence with µs lifetimes. ABSTRACT With their photoluminescence properties, gold nanoclusters (AuNCs, d<2 nm)

Comparison of polar mesospheric cloud observations by Himawari-8/AHI and Himawari-9/AHI

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space
We have applied the polar mesospheric cloud (PMC) detection method to the full-disc images obtained by the Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI) on board the Japanese geostationary Earth orbit (GEO) meteorological satellite Himawari-9, which has been in ...

Failure points in the early autism identification pathway for children aged 0–5 years: Why screening is not diagnosis

open access: yesPediatric Investigation, EarlyView.
Early autism identification in children aged 0–5 years should be understood as a linked pathway from concern to action. Screening has value, but clinically meaningful identification depends on escalation of concern, referral conversion, timely assessment, and needs‐based support.

A Dual‐Mode Photoconductive Colorimetric Wearable UV‐Dosimeter: Strategies for Tunable UV‐Band Sensitivity

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The harmful ultraviolet component of sunlight necessitates reliable and wavelength‐selective personal UV monitoring technologies. Here, thermally evaporated CuBr thin films enable dual‐mode UV dosimetry through persistent photoconductive and colorimetric responses arising from charge trapping and surface oxide formation.
