A Genetic Locus Regulates the Expression of Tissue-Specific mRNAs from Multiple Transcription Units [PDF]
129 GIX- mice, unlike animals of the congeneic partner strain GIX+, do not express significant amounts of the retroviral antigens gp70 and p30. Evidence is presented indicating that the GIX phenotype is specified by a distinct regulatory gene acting on ...

Exercise‐induced dynamic hyperinflation in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Abstract Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is an inflammatory lung disease caused by inhalation of noxious particles, most commonly cigarette smoking. Cerebral haemodynamic responses to inspiratory muscle work
Abstract Fatiguing inspiratory work has been shown to evoke a sympathetically mediated reflex that has systemic cardiovascular consequences, including increases in heart rate and blood pressure and a decrease in resting limb vascular conductance. Moreover, the response to this reflex appears to be attenuated in females compared with males.
