Introduction of PMSM Control Methods
2019Vector control is based on the rotor flux orientation. Torque control of the PMSM can be achieved by controlling the stator current vector. Using vector control method, the PMSM can obtain the same satisfactory control performance as the DC motor. Nowadays, vector control method has been widely used in the high-performance motor drives.

Comparison of Radial Flux PMSM and Axial Flux PMSM for Hybrid Electric Tracked Vehicles
2021Permanent magnet synchronous motors are increasingly becoming predominant with the upscale competitiveness of high-power permanent magnets. Permanent magnets are comparatively more efficient because the field excitation losses are extinguished that leads to significant rotor loss minimization. Thus, the motor efficiency is greatly surpassed, and higher

Nonlinear torque control for PMSM
Melecon 2010 - 2010 15th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference, 2010This study presents a novel means of designing a simple and effective torque control for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). The overall stability of the system is shown using Lyapunov technique. The Lyapunov functions used contain a term penalizing incremental energy of control error, torque and stator flux, enhancing the stability.

Output feedback control of PMSM
49th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2010The problem of controlling a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor is approached in this paper eliminating the necessity of including a speed sensor and without knowledge of the (constant) load torque. The proposed controller is obtained by equipping a well-known state-feedback scheme with an observer for estimating the speed and an adaptation law for the

Field‐weakening in high‐performance PMSM drives
COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2002The comparative analysis of field‐weakening (FW) in vector controlled and DTC permanent magnet synchronous motor drives is performed. The results of simulations and a comprehensive set of experiments are also given. The possibility of unstable operation in the high‐speed region using DTC is emphasised.

High performance control of PMSM
2010 First Symposium on Sensorless Control for Electrical Drives, 2010This paper proposed a new switching scheme for controlling permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The voltage source inverter (VSI) is represented as event driven system with 23 modes of operation. The switching among these modes is governed by the supervisory control approach.

Simple speed observer for PMSM
2017 9th International Congress on Ultra Modern Telecommunications and Control Systems and Workshops (ICUMT), 2017This paper is devoted to design and investigation of simple speed observer for non-salient permanent magnet synchronous motors. The key feature of this observer is that it requires the knowledge the motor resistance and inductance and can be applied in situations when viscous friction coefficient and load torque are known.

Recent technical trends in PMSM
2014 International Power Electronics Conference (IPEC-Hiroshima 2014 - ECCE ASIA), 2014This paper overviews the recent technical trends in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs), especially the rare-earth less PMSMs in Japan. The rareearth less PMSMs including the PMSMs with reduced rareearth PMs, permanent magnet assisted synchronous motors with ferrite magnets and axial gap PMSMs with ferrite magnets are reviewed.

PMSM Identification Using Genetic Algorithm
2019 26th International Workshop on Electric Drives: Improvement in Efficiency of Electric Drives (IWED), 2019The paper researches the opportunity of using genetic algorithms for the parameters identification process of a permanent magnets synchronous motor under information interferences conditions. As the quality criterion of identification, the proximity of the reaction of a permanent magnets synchronous motor and the response of its dynamic model to ...
