This is a report from PATH to the Elisabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in Rwanda from 2005. At this time Rwanda, with encouragement from Paul Farmer, was focused on avoidance of breastfeeding as the "correct" approach to avoiding postnatal transmission.

This descriptive study aimed to determine the gap in nutrition and infant feeding knowledge, attitude, and practice among the HIV-positive mothers under 6 months, in order to improve nutritional education program at PMTCT sites level. A total of 90 mothers of children under 6 months chosen at random were interviewed in three PMTCT sites.
