The Prognostic Significance of Tertiary Lymphoid Structures in Head and Neck Cancers: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Oral Pathology &Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), particularly oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), is associated with poor survival despite therapeutic advances. Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) are emerging components of the tumor microenvironment, but their prognostic significance in HNSCC remains unclear.

A influência de respondente substituto na percepção da saúde de idosos: um estudo baseado na Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (1998, 2003) e na coorte de Bambuí, Minas Gerais, Brasil The influence of proxy respondents on health perception among older adults: a study based on the Brazilian National Household Survey (1998, 2003) and the cohort study in Bambuí, Minas Gerais State, Brazil

open access: yesCadernos de Saúde Pública, 2007
Este trabalho foi desenvolvido para verificar se o uso de respondente substituto influencia a distribuição e os fatores associados à percepção da saúde em idosos, assim como o risco associado à mortalidade.

Toward Employee Engagement and Development Through Internal Corporate Social Responsibility

open access: yesBusiness Strategy &Development, Volume 9, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates antecedents and moderators of stakeholder engagement focusing on employees as primary stakeholders. Using partial least squares structural equation modeling with a stratified sample of 369 Brazilian employees, we tested trust and commitment as direct antecedents, and transparency and communication as moderators. Statistical interpretation of the GDP, the PNAD and the minimum wage

open access: yes, 2015
Why has household income in the National Household Survey (PNAD) grown so much faster than household consumption in Brazil's GDP from 2011 to 2012? To provide an answer to this question, we start from a visualization of the importance of the minimum wage

Inflammation‐Driven Lymphoid Structures: Organization, Function, and Clinical Impact Across Autoimmunity, Cancer, and Checkpoint Toxicity

open access: yesImmunological Reviews, Volume 339, Issue 1, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Lymphoid structures (LS) arising in nonlymphoid tissues are increasingly recognized as active immune niches rather than simple consequences of chronic inflammation. In this review, we propose a framework that distinguishes inflammatory lymphoid structures (ILS) from mature tertiary lymphoid structures (mTLS), while acknowledging that these ...

Rural Migrants and Urban Informality: Evidence From Brazil

open access: yesEconometrica, Volume 94, Issue 3, Page 911-939, May 2026.
This paper studies the economic effects of rural‐urban migration on Brazilian cities. Using a shift‐share IV design, we show that, over a decade, drought‐induced immigration reduces informality, has no effect on unemployment, and increases the number of formal firms and jobs.

Engineering Tertiary Lymphoid Structures: Nanomedicine, Bioengineering, and Biomaterials for Precision Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, Volume 6, Issue 4, April 2026.
This review explains how biomaterials and nanoparticles can be used to induce or modulate tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs), which are ectopic immune hubs that form in nonlymphoid tissues during chronic disease and cancer. By comparing different methods, the article highlights design principles for modeling TLSs or recapitulating specific TLS ...
