Engineering Strain‐Stiffening Granular Hydrogels for 3D‐Printed Tissue‐Mimicry

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printable strain‐stiffening double‐network granular hydrogel (SDGH) enables independent, region‐specific tuning of toe (EToe) and heel (EHeel) moduli through control of microgel packing and network composition. This platform replicates tissue‐like nonlinear mechanics and allows fabrication of high‐fidelity, multilayered aortic valves with ...

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Pneumatized septal turbinate

open access: yesAuris Nasus Larynx, 2014
Intumenscentia septi nasi anterior is an anatomical variation in the nasal cavity, first described by Morgagni in 1662; septal turbinate and tuberculum septi nasi anterior are among the various other names attributed to this anatomical structure. It is an expandable vascular network which develops from the septal mucosa.

Additively Manufactured Porous Ceramics as Tunable Dielectrics for Passive Temperature Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Porous ceramic lattices, 3D‐printed from a multicomponent oxide ink, are integrated with LC resonators for passive wireless temperature sensing. By tuning porosity, the dielectric properties and RF response are engineered to produce distinct resonant frequency shifts with temperature. The results establish a structure‐driven approach to customizing the

A high-speed transplanting machine for plug seedlings with integrated mechanical and pneumatic drive [PDF]

open access: yesEngenharia Agrícola
The existing plug seedling transplanters that are used for large-scale vegetable cultivation in China are faced with three main issues: the poor reliability of electrical control systems in the harsh conditions in the field, low efficiency of single-row ...

Material Selection and Geometric Design for Few‐filament Shape Memory Polymer Yarns for Force Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A custom shape memory polymer material selection process relates quantitative application criteria (e.g., compression garment yarns) to material characterization information. The selected materials are manufactured into yarn geometries, which expand the design space by creating structural stress‐strain profiles beyond the nominal material stress‐strain

Pneumatization of the petrous apex.

open access: yesNippon Jibiinkoka Gakkai Kaiho, 1994
Pneumatization of the petrous apex was investigated in 226 subjects without middle ear disease by means of target imaging CT. The degree of pneumatization of all subjects was 32.7% (148/452 ears), but no difference in degree was revealed with distinction of bilateral ears or between sexes.
