URERTEROSCOPIC LASER LITHOTRIPSY IS BETTER THAN PNEUMATIC LITHOTRIPSY FOR URETRIC STONES
GLOBAL JOURNAL FOR RESEARCH ANALYSIS, 2023Background: Among various intra-corporeal lithotripters, pneumatic lithotripter has become the widely used tool for the treatment of urinary stones. Recently the holmium: YAG laser has been used with a wide range of potential urological applications, including intra-corporeal lithotripsy of urinary calculi. Aims and objective: Compare the effectiveness

Urethral Urolithiasis in Male Cattle Treated Using Pneumatic Lithotripsy
Veterinary Research Communications, 2022One of the most important problems encountered in cattle breeding is urethral urolithiasis. Urolithiasis can be treated using various methods, but they all carry risks. Thus, a continuous search is being carried out for alternatives in this field. This study aimed to treat urethral urolithiasis in male cattle using pneumatic lithotripsy, a minimally ...

Pneumatic Lithotripsy versus Laser Lithotripsy in the Endoscopic Treatment of Ureteral Calculi
Journal of Endourology, 2001To compare the efficacy, safety, and features of pneumatic lithotripsy (PL) with those of laser lithotripsy (LL) and present our clinical experience in the endoscopic management of ureteral calculi. From August 1994 to February 2000, 285 consecutive patients underwent endoscopic lithotripsy with either the Swiss Lithoclast pneumatic lithotripter (145 ...

Tissue Damage from Ultrasonic, Pneumatic, and Combination Lithotripsy
Journal of Endourology, 2015To conduct a comparative evaluation of ultrasonic, pneumatic, and dual ultrasonic (DUS) lithotripsy to predict the safety of probes on urinary tract tissue. The Swiss Lithoclast Ultra (ultrasonic-only [US] and ultrasonic-pneumatic combination [US+P]) and the Gyrus ACMI Cyberwand (DUS) were evaluated.

Comparison between shockpulse and pneumatic lithotripsy in percutaneous nephrolithotomy
World Journal of Urology, 2020To compare the effectiveness and safety of shockpulse with pneumatic lithotripsy in percutaneous nephrolithotomy.A prospective randomized comparative study was performed in Department of Urology, Bir Hospital for 1-year duration with 61 patients in shockpulse (Group 1) and 58 patients in pneumatic lithoclast (Group 2) groups, respectively.

Intracorporeal Lithotripsy: Electrohydraulic, Pneumatic, and Ultrasonic
2012The evolution of ureteroscopy using electrohydraulic lithotripsy (EHL), pneumatic lithotripsy (PL), and ultrasonic lithotripsy (USL) for the treatment of ureteral stones offered a much less invasive alternative to contemporary open ureterolithotomy, and a was major advancement for the fledgling field of endourology.

Laboratory and Clinical Assessment of Pneumatically Driven Intracorporeal Lithotripsy
Journal of Endourology, 1998A pneumatically driven intracorporeal lithotripter (the Swiss Lithoclast) has recently been approved for use in the United States. We compared its performance in vitro with ultrasonic, electrohydraulic and laser lithotripsy devices using a standard plaster-of-Paris stone phantom.

[Pneumatic contact lithotripsy].
Urologiia i nefrologiia, 1995The safety and clinical efficacy of electrohydraulic, ultrasonic and pneumatic lithotriptors were compared in experiments on dog ureters and plaster plates. Electrohydraulic and pneumatic were most effective contact lithotriptors. The safest of them was pneumatic, ultrasonic was safer than electrohydraulic.

Ultrasonic, Pneumatic and Combination Intracorporeal Lithotripsy for Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy
Journal of Endourology, 2009Refinements in ultrasonic and pneumatic lithotriptors, as well as the development of new dual-modality lithotriptors, have increased the options available for the endourologist. Studies comparing the efficiency of the devices in both bench and clinical models help provide the endourologist with guidance in selecting the most appropriate lithotrite.A ...
