Salvage Surgery Following Systemic Therapy in Initially Unresectable Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. [PDF]
Salvage pulmonary resection after systemic therapy for initially unresectable non‐small cell lung cancer achieved a high R0 rate with minimal morbidity and no perioperative mortality. Careful multidisciplinary selection facilitated a durable 5‐year survival rate of 75%.

Role of Pneumonectomy in T1–4N2M0 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer: A Propensity Score Matching Analysis
BackgroundN2 stage disease constitutes approximately 20%–30% of all non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Concurrently, surgery remains the first-choice treatment for patients with N2 NSCLC if feasible.

UK pneumonectomy outcome study (UKPOS): a prospective observational study of pneumonectomy outcome
Background In order to assess the short term risks of pneumonectomy for lung cancer in contemporary practice a one year prospective observational study of pneumonectomy outcome was made.

Successful treatment of late onset empyema after extrapleural pneumonectomy: A case report
Treatment of post-extrapleural pneumonectomy empyema (PEPPE) is more difficult than that for post-pneumonectomy empyema for two reasons: first, a large infectious dead space remains after extrapleural pneumonectomy (EPP); and second, defects of the ...

Pneumonectomy for Non-small Cell Lung Cancer: Predictors of Operative Mortality and Survival
Surgery is the most effective way to cure non-small cell lung cancer currently. Although sleeve lobectomy, with less reduction of respiratory function and a lower mortality rate, would not compromise oncological results in well-selected patients with ...
