Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most prevalent primary liver neoplasm worldwide and constitutes a significant cause of cancer mortality. Transcription factors SP1 and NF-Y are known to regulate the activity of the PNPT1 gene promoter, whose elevated levels have been associated with reduced survival in HCC patients.
