Toward Fast Proton Shuttling in Acidic Oxygen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review establishes proton transfer dynamics as a descriptor governing acidic OER activity, moving beyond the kinetic constraints derived from the proton coupled electron transfer. We discuss how deprotonation governs classical mechanisms, including adsorbate evolution mechanism (AEM), lattice oxygen mechanism (LOM) and oxide path mechanism (OPM ...

Tous milliardaires ! Le rêve français de la Silicon Valley

open access: yes, 2019

Present-day 3D structural model of the Po Valley basin, Northern Italy

open access: yes, 2014
A 3D structural model of the Po Valley basin (Northern Italy) was built by integrating the dataset available from the public domain (DEM, wells, isobath-maps, cross-sections, outcrop-trends).The model shows the complex foredeep-foreland architecture ...

Conformal Metallosaccharide Hybrid Films for Protecting Wood Surfaces From Environmental Damage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ti‐ribose hybrid films fabricated by molecular layer deposition form a conformal and uniform coating on wood surfaces, which provides water repellence, dimensional stability, and resistance to acidic and alkaline environments, while preserving the natural appearance.

Influence of the Alps on two troughs affecting WRF forecasts of convection in the Po Valley during HyMeX

open access: yes, 2014
Two Intensive Observation Periods (IOPs) from the HYdrological cycle in Mediterranean Experiment (HyMeX) have been studied here. IOP6 and IOP13 were dedicated to the documentation of heavy precipitation events over target areas in northern Italy. In both

Steering Oxygen Activation Pathways via Redox Dual‐Defects in 2D Hydrated WO3 for High‐Yield Singlet Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Redox dual‐defects (Cs substitution and O vacancies) in 2D hydrated WO3 steer O2 activation toward selective singlet oxygen evolution. WO‐CO achieves 8.6–15.8 times higher 1O2 production than single‐defect or pristine catalysts, enabling efficient pollutant mineralization via a pathway‐selective photocatalytic mechanism.

Bandgap‐Engineered AlGaAs/GaAs Heterostructures for Wavelength‐Selective Dual‐Polarity Photoelectrochemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bandgap‐engineered AlGaAs/GaAs heterostructures exhibit wavelength‐selective dual‐polarity photoelectrochemistry, switching from photocathodic to photoanodic response depending on excitation wavelength. The polarity transition is governed by band‐selective absorption, built‐in electric‐field‐driven carrier transport, and interfacial charge‐transfer ...

Fungal spores and pollen in particulate matter collected during agricultural activities in the Po Valley (Italy)

open access: yes, 2016
Airborne particulate matter (PM) containing fungal spores and pollen grains was sampled within a monitoring campaign of wheat threshing, plowing and sowing agricultural operations.

Immigration and Public Support for Social Policy: Accounting for the Gender Composition of Immigrant Populations

open access: yesSocius
With increasing global mobility, scholars have debated whether immigration undermines welfare states. So far, no conclusive evidence of a consistent association between immigration and social policy support has emerged.
