Chemical State Detection and Charge Transfer in Complex Oxide Heterostructures via In Situ Auger Electron Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ Auger Electron Spectroscopy resolves oxidation states with high fidelity during the pulsed laser deposition of multivalent perovskite manganate and vanadate heterostructures. The chemical‐state signature is carried by the valence‐electron population of the transition‐metal cation, read out through the relative intensities of Auger fine ...

Late Iron Age decorated coarse ware in central‑eastern Lombardy (Northern Italy) [PDF]

open access: yesStudia Hercynia
This paper delves into Late Iron Age decorated coarse ware originating from the present day province of Bergamo in central Lombardy. During protohistoric time, this region served as a borderland and a nexus connecting extensive cultural spheres ...

X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...

Tumultuous materials. Decorated coarse ware in Late Iron Age Emilia [PDF]

open access: yesStudia Hercynia
In the Emilian Po plain, during the Late Iron Age (4th and 3rd century BCE), an unprecedented and heteroge neous class of handmade coarse and decorated ceramics emerged in certain sites.

Piuforesta. Il bosco di Piubega e la foresta planiziale padana

open access: yesRi-vista: Ricerche per la Progettazione del Paesaggio
The Po Valley, once rich in forests, has undergone a drastic reduction in forest cover over the centu-ries due to the advent of modern agriculture. Today, the only remaining traces of the original forests are found along the riverbanks and in a few ...

Analysis of the severe flood of 13t-16th October 2000 in Piedmont (Italy)

open access: yesCuadernos de Investigación Geográfica, 2013
During the 13th-16th of October 2000 a disastrous flood occurred in the whole Piedmont associated with heavy rainfall over the North-Western Alpine chain in successive episodes spanning the whole period. The event was originated by a Southern, strong and

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Doppler radar wind field retrieval over the Po Valley [PDF]

open access: yesNatural Hazards and Earth System Sciences, 2006
Although methods of using multiple Doppler radars to study wind fields have long been proposed, and many research studies have been made, very few operational radar operators adopt methods which require the use of specific scanning strategies to allow ...

Giant Magnetic Coercivity Driven by Spin‐Bag Ferromagnetism in Epitaxial Sr3YCo4O10+δ Films with Engineered 2D Oxygen Vacancy Ordering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A giant magnetic coercivity and a vertical shift of hysteresis loops are demonstrated in Sr3YCo4O10+δ epitaxial films. The hard magnetic behavior originates from ferromagnetic spin bags stabilized within a long‐range ordered oxygen‐vacancy structure.
