Heating energy balance and biomass consumption for the residential sector in the Po Valley
In Northern Italy, woody biomass is widely used as an energy carrier for domestic heating systems; this leads to lower CO2 emissions, but some concerns are due to particulate matter emissions. The present paper compares three methodological approaches to

Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

A conceptual model for the development of tornadoes in the Po Valley
Why is the Po Valley a hot spot in Europe for tornadoes? In this study the authors address this issue, studying a tornado outbreak that affected the Po Valley on 19 September 2021. During that event seven tornadoes (four of them ranked as F2 according to

Si‐doped AlCoCrFeNi high‐entropy alloys are synthesized by mechanical alloying to reveal the effect of Si content and milling time on phase evolution, microstructural refinement, and tribological behavior. A transition from FCC to BCC structure, significant grain refinement, and enhanced hardness and wear resistance are achieved, with the 4 at% Si ...

AMMONIA EMISSIONS FROM ARABLE LANDS IN PO VALLEY: METHODOLOGIES, DYNAMICS AND QUANTIFICATION. [PDF]
Although the Po Valley (north Italy) is considered one of the most important ammonia (NH3) emitting regions in Europe, few data are available for an evaluation of the ammonia budget at field level in arable lands.

Electrified Damage in Motion Systems
The electrified damage in motion systems is a fundamental framework presenting the degradation pathway arising from the coupling of electrical energy transport with mechanical contact and interfacial chemistry. The framework positions electrified damage as a distinct degradation regime with unique characteristic surface morphologies and failures of ...
