The diversity of microfungi associated with grasses in the Sporobolus indicus complex in Queensland, Australia

open access: yesFrontiers in Fungal Biology, 2022
There are five closely related Sporobolus species, collectively known as weedy Sporobolus grasses (WSG) or the rat’s tail grasses. They are fast growing, highly competitive, unpalatable weeds of pastures, roadsides and woodlands.

Phylogenetics of Paniceae (Poaceae) [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, 2001
Paniceae demonstrate unique variability of photosynthetic physiology and anatomy, including both non‐Kranz and Kranz species and all subtypes of the latter. This variability suggests hypotheses of independent origin or reversals (e.g., from C4 to C3). These hypotheses can be tested by phylogenetic analysis of independent molecular characters.

Application of wood chips for soil mulching in the cultivation of ornamental grasses

open access: yesFolia Horticulturae, 2016
A mulch is a layer of material applied to the surface of the soil. Mulching plays an important role in the maintenance of green spaces. Organic materials are still sought for the preparation of mulches. Recently interest in wood chips has grown.

Eco-evolutionary dynamics modulate plant responses to global change depending on plant diversity and species identity

open access: yeseLife, 2022
Global change has dramatic impacts on grassland diversity. However, little is known about how fast species can adapt to diversity loss and how this affects their responses to global change.
