Outcomes from blind versus ultrasound‐guided uterine evacuation: A retrospective cohort analysis

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
There were low complication rates for blind and ultrasound‐guided uterine evacuations. However, ultrasound guidance was utilized for higher risk cases and significantly reduced the volume of retained tissue in complicated cases. The use of ultrasound guidance by doctors and sonographers for uterine evacuation is a compelling choice where available ...

Thoracic Ultrasound–Related Management Change: Predictors and the Role of Operator Certification (Secondary Analysis of UltraMAN)

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, Volume 54, Issue 3, Page 635-641, March/April 2026.
Thoracic ultrasound frequently altered ICU management decisions. Changes were more likely in patients with cardiovascular disease or hypovolemia and occurred independently of operator certification. These findings support the routine use of TUS in critically ill patients, even when performed by less‐experienced but supervised operators.

Radiology Imaging Adds Time and Diagnostic Uncertainty when Point of Care Ultrasound Demonstrates Cholecystitis

open access: yesPOCUS Journal
Background: Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) is specific for acute cholecystitis (AC), but surgeons request radiology imaging (RI) prior to admitting patients with POCUS-diagnosed AC.

PrehospitaL Ultrasound in Undifferentiated DyspnEa (PreLUDE): a prospective, clinical, observational study

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Trauma, Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine, 2023
Background Diagnostic uncertainty in patients with dyspnea is associated with worse outcomes. We hypothesized that prehospital point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) can improve diagnostic accuracy.

Retrospective evaluation of the agreement between thoracic point-of-care ultrasound and thoracic radiographs in cats with recent trauma: 111 cats

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
IntroductionMotor vehicular trauma, bite wounds, high-rise syndrome, and trauma of unknown origin are common reasons cats present to the emergency service. In small animals, thoracic injuries are often associated with trauma.

Ultrasonographic Diagnosis of Bilateral Spontaneous Ovarian Hemorrhage in a 7‐Year‐Old Female Black‐and‐White Ruffed Lemur (Varecia variegata)

open access: yesVeterinary Radiology &Ultrasound, Volume 67, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT A 7‐year‐old female intact, black‐and‐white ruffed lemur (Varecia variegata) presented for acute anorexia, lethargy, and abnormal behavior. Initial radiographs were concerning for gastrointestinal ileus. Abdominal ultrasonography identified bilateral periovarian masses and a moderate volume of echogenic peritoneal effusion; no definitive blood
