We present POD, a smartphone that flies, as a new way to achieve hands-free, eyes-up mobile computing. Unlike existing drone-carried user interfaces, POD features a smartphone-sized display and the computing and sensing power of a modern smartphone. We share our experience in building a prototype of POD, discuss the technical challenges facing it, and ...

Effects of deficit irrigation on yield and yield components of pinto bean genotypes in Shahrekord [PDF]
Introduction Pinto bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is one of the most important bean types in Iran. Cultivation area of pinto bean is about 50% of total bean cultivation area and more than half of grain bean production belongs to this type of bean.

Studying of integrated weed management in rainfed chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) [PDF]
Introduction Chickpea is important due to its grain high protein. Chickpea is weak to compete with weeds because of the retard growth at the early stages. Therefore, weed control at this time plays an important role to gain high production.

Development of a Reduced Order Model for Fuel Burnup Analysis
Fuel burnup analysis requires a high computational cost for full core calculations, due to the amount of the information processed for the total reaction rates in many burnup regions. Indeed, they reach the order of millions or more by a subdivision into

A Galerkin‐free/equation‐free model reduction method for single‐phase flow in fractured porous media
We construct a reduced‐order model for flow in fractured porous media based on the POD and Galerkin‐free method. Compared with the fine‐scale model, the ROM can significantly reduce the CPU time without compromising the quality of the numerical solutions.

Spectral proper orthogonal decomposition and its relationship to dynamic mode decomposition and resolvent analysis [PDF]
We consider the frequency domain form of proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) called spectral proper orthogonal decomposition (SPOD). Spectral POD is derived from a space-time POD problem for statistically stationary flows and leads to modes that each ...
