Development of a Delonix regia decorticating machine

open access: yesEngineering Reports, 2019
Delonix regia has good potential for medicinal, nutritional, and energy applications. However, the manual process of decorticating Delonix regia is labor‐intensive, slow, and tedious.

Relationship between preoperative neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio and postoperative delirium: The PNDABLE and the PNDRFAP cohort studies

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2023., 2023
This is the first prospective population‐based study to assess the relationship between the prevalence of POD and preoperative NLR levels. This study proposes that elevated preoperative NLR levels are a risk factor for POD, and elevated P‐tau and T‐tau are also associated with the development of POD.

Survival of patients with mantle cell lymphoma in the rituximab era: Retrospective binational analysis between 2000 and 2020

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, Volume 201, Issue 1, Page 64-74, April 2023., 2023
Summary Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare peripheral B‐cell lymphoma characterised by eventual relapse and progression towards a more aggressive disease biology. With the introduction of rituximab‐ and cytarabine‐based immunochemotherapy regimens, the prognosis of the disease has changed dramatically over the last two decades.

Study of trailing vortices and impeller jet instabilities of a flat blade impeller in small‐scale reactors

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 69, Issue 2, February 2023., 2023
Abstract The design of economically feasible and profitable production processes has driven companies toward integrated continuous manufacturing by reducing working volumes and increasing operating frequencies. Thus, the development of robust small‐scale devices capable of multivariate process optimization is essential.

POD‐based analysis of a wind turbine wake under the influence of tower and nacelle

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 24, Issue 6, Page 609-633, June 2021., 2021
Abstract The wake produced by a model wind turbine is investigated using proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) of numerical data obtained by large eddy simulations at a diameter‐based Reynolds number . The blades are modeled employing the actuator line method and an immersed boundary method is used to simulate tower and nacelle.

POD analysis of oscillating grid turbulence in water and shear thinning polymer solution

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 67, Issue 1, January 2021., 2021
Abstract Oscillating grids are frequently used with water and Newtonian fluids to generate controlled turbulence and mixing. Yet, their use with shear thinning fluids still requires experimental characterization. Proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) is applied to PIV measurements of the flow generated by an oscillating grid in water and a shear ...

A Galerkin‐free/equation‐free model reduction method for single‐phase flow in fractured porous media

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 8, Issue 6, Page 1997-2010, June 2020., 2020
We construct a reduced‐order model for flow in fractured porous media based on the POD and Galerkin‐free method. Compared with the fine‐scale model, the ROM can significantly reduce the CPU time without compromising the quality of the numerical solutions.

Enhanced Chlorophyll Degradation Triggers the Pod Degreening of “Golden Hook,” a Special Ecotype in Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2020
To reveal genetic factors or pathways involved in the pod degreening, we performed transcriptome and metabolome analyses using a yellow pod cultivar of the common bean “golden hook” ecotype and its green pod mutants yielded via gamma radiation ...

Durability of a Drag Reducing Solution

open access: yesApplied Rheology, 2008
Effectiveness of drag reduction by small addition of a surfactant in the turbulent flow of water depends on the structure and concentration of the additive, temperature of the solution and turbulence intensity, possible flow disturbance by a mechanical ...

Study the Transport Properties of Anion and Cation Exchange Membranes toward Various Ions Using Chronopotentiometry [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2017
The transport properties of various anion and cation exchange membranes were studied in different electrolyte solutions using chronopotentiometry technique to get insight about the influence of the counter ion on the transport properties of the membranes.
