Formation and evolution of the chromitites of the Stillwater Complex : a trace element study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Large layered intrusions, such as the Stillwater Complex, contain cyclic units of chromite-rich layers (cm to m thick) having kilometre-scale lateral extension.

Sulfides associated with podiform bodies of chromite at Tsangli, Eretria, Greece

open access: yesMineralium Deposita, 1984
Small bodies of pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, minor pentlandite, and magnetite occur at the peripheries of podiform bodies of chromite in ultramafic ophiolitic rocks at Tsangli, Eretria, central Greece. Banding of magnetite and sulfide within the bodies is reminiscent of magmatic banding.

The Chemistry of Serpentine Soils Developed Over A Podiform Chromite Deposit, Western Sierra Nevada, USA [PDF]

open access: yesActa Geologica Sinica - English Edition, 2017
The Chinese Camp mining district in the western Sierra Nevada of California, USA, contains a serpentinized, ultramafic dunite intrusion with podiform chromite deposits. Serpentine soils have developed over this intrusion, creating a unique ecosystem of endemic vegetation and soils characterized by low Ca/Mg ratios and high Ni and Cr contents.

Factors Controlling the Chromium Isotope Compositions in Podiform Chromitites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The application of Cr isotope compositions to the investigation of magmatic and post-magmatic effects on chromitites is unexplored. This study presents and compiles the first Cr stable isotope data (δ53Cr values) with major and trace element ...
