Population dynamics of Podocarpus lambertii in southern Brazilian forest–grassland mosaics
Canadian Journal of Forest Research, 2019The grasslands conversion to forests is occurring globally and modifying the population dynamics of species. Here, we characterized the population dynamics of Podocarpus lambertii Klotzsch ex Endl. over four years in southern Brazilian forest–grassland mosaics. We asked (i) if the studied P.

Somatic Embryogenesis of Brazilian Conifer Podocarpus lambertii Klotzsch ex Endl.
2018P. lambertii is a Brazilian conifer indigenous to one of the 25 biodiversity hotspots of the world, the subtropical moist forest ecoregion of the Atlantic Forest Biome. Its conservation status is classified as near threatened, being desirable the development and use of biotechnological tools, such as somatic embryogenesis (SE).

Biotic interactions between pioneer and late-successional species may affect the spatial arrangement of the individuals in plant communities resulting in positive or negative patterns of association. Studies that analyze the plant colonization patterns in areas of natural forest regeneration are important to ecological restoration projects.
