Characterization of imogolite-type nanoparticles in Podzols: morphology and association with iron [PDF]
Imogolite-type nanoparticles (ITN) are among the most extensively studied particles present in the Bs horizons of Podzols, as they are strongly associated with the adsorption processes of different anions in soils, including phosphate.

Migration from inorganic to organic fertilization for a more sustainable oil palm agro-industry [PDF]
The rapid growth in oil palm production has raised environmental concerns due to the massive discharge of liquid and solid waste. To address this issue, waste generated need to be optimized by composting and converting the waste into organic fertilizer ...

Catchment Influences on Carbon Stable Isotope Variation in Trout; Might It Be Methane? [PDF]
Trout stable carbon isotope values vary significantly and appear to relate to catchment characteristics. Low carbon stable isotope values are linked to catchments with low drainage soil and high cover of pasture land use. This is likely to be linked to high levels of methane‐derived carbon entering the stream food web.

Protistan Predators Outshine Fungi in Forest Soil Activity. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Despite extensive research on fungal communities in forest soils, our understanding of the whole eukaryotic diversity and distribution remains limited. Moreover, traditional amplicon sequencing methods often introduce severe PCR and primer biases, further hindering accurate assessment of the microbial community composition in forest soils.

Development of a lateral topographic weathering gradient in temperate forested podzols
Mineral weathering is an important soil-forming process driven by the interplay of water, organisms, solution chemistry, and mineralogy. The influence of hillslope-scale patterns of water flux on mineral weathering in soils is still not well understood ...

Palaeosols as Quaternary stratigraphic key horizons in Ostrobothnia, western Finland [PDF]
In Ostrobothnia, western Finland, palaeosols have been recognized at several sites in the sandy deposits between glaciofluvial sediments and the overlying till. The palaeosols resemble postglacial podzol. As climatic conditions changed, the palaeosols at
