A bottom‐up, component‐resolved framework combining DSC/TGA, evolved gas analysis, and in situ XRD reveals how decomposition pathways control energy release in partial and micro‐cell configurations. Separator‐free assemblies are dominated by cathode‐O2${\rm O}_2$/anode‐Li reactions, while the separator restricts oxygen transport, reshapes the reaction ...

Status and recent results from the POF-ALL EU project
S.79-84We present an overview of the EU STREP project POF-ALL, aimed at developing new low-cost high-speed short reach optical transmission systems based on large-core (1 mm) Plastic Optical Fibers (POF). Best results include 100 Mbit/s transmission over

Early Pliocene Varanus (Squamata, Varanidae) remains from Megalo Emvolon, Thessaloniki, Greece
The article describes new cranial and postcranial varanid material from Megalo Emvolon Lower Pliocene vertebrate fossil site near Thessaloniki. The fossils, likely representing a single individual, are referred to Varanus cf. marathonensis. Abstract This study describes new fossil varanid material from a recently discovered fossil spot (MVL site) at ...

Detection of 2-Furaldehyde in Milk by MIP-Based POF Chips Combined with an SPR-POF Sensor
An innovative optical-chemical sensor has been used to detect the 2-furaldehyde (2-FAL) in milk. The proposed sensing approach exploits the refractive index changing in a microstructured chip based on a plastic optical fiber (POF) with orthogonal micro-holes containing a specific molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP).

Abstract The study of morphological evolution is fundamentally tied to ontogeny, yet studies of these heterochronic processes in the fossil record are rare. Fossils belonging to an ontogenetic series are difficult to assign to an ontogenetic stage due to inconsistent proxies for skeletal ages, challenging to taxonomically assign due to morphological ...

Possibilities and limitations of data communication over large core diameter PMMA POF
S.82-87Large core diameter PMMA POF is reliable and easy to handle and terminate. But unlike glass optical fiber or perfluorinated POF both a visible light source and a large area detector are necessary to achieve its benefits.

A kernel-space POF virtual switch [PDF]
Protocol Oblivious Forwarding (POF) aims at providing a standard southbound interface for sustainable Software Defined Networking (SDN) evolvement. It overcomes the limitations of popular OpenFlow protocols (an existing widely-adopted southbound interface), through the enhancement of SDN forwarding plane.
