Pogostemon cablin Constituents: A Promising Source of Natural Fungicides and Herbicides

Antifungal screening identified Pogostemon cablin essential oil (EO) as a potent fungicide against Colletotrichum fragariae, prompting bioassay-directed fractionation. [The observation and comparison of Pogostemon cablin from different habitats].

The present work is concerned the observation and comparison among 4 kinds of Pogostemon cablin (Blanco.) Benth. from different habitats by some methods, such as descriptions identification, microscopical identification and scanning electron microscopy. The results provide scientific basis for recognition and distinction of Pogostemon cablin varieties.

[Study on the tissue culture and plant regeneration of Pogostemon cablin].

Root tips, leaf segments, stem segments with node and stem segments of Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. were cultured in vitro. The results indicated that leaf segments and stem segments with node were suitable for callus formation, the frequency of callus induction were over 87.0%.
