For avoiding excessive congestion of tourists that causes overtourism, we propose a Generic Point of Interest (POI), which is an alternative sightseeing spot potentially attractive enough for tourists to replace a well-known sightseeing spot. We also propose a method to discover generic POIs and evaluate it.

We have built haptic interfaces featuring smartphones that use magnetometer-derived orientation sensing to modulate virtual displays. Embedding such devices into swinging a ordances allows a "poi"-style interface, whirling tethered devices, for a novel interaction technique.

Clustering Users’ POIs Visit Trajectories for Next-POI Recommendation
2018A novel recommender system that supports tourists in choosing interesting and novel points of interests (POIs) is here presented. It can deal with situations where users’ data is scarce and there is no additional information about users apart from their past POIs visits.

The vast majority of POI cases throughout the world are spontaneous and idiopathic. Despite expansion of genetic testing, lowered cost, and increased awareness, 90 % of idiopathic, spontaneous POI has no known etiology. The genetics of POI is a growing body of literature and new candidate genes are discovered daily.

Hierarchical POI Attention Model for Successive POI Recommendation
2021The rapid growth of location-based social networks developed a large number of point-of-interests (POIs). POI recommendation task aims to predict users’ successive POIs, which has attracted more and more research interests recently. POI recommendation is achieved based on POI context, which contains a variety of information, including check-in sequence

Pois hakutuloksista, pois mielestä?
Out of search results, out of mind?Professor Viktor Mayer-Schönberger analyses the dialectics of remembering and forgetting in his work Delete: The Virtue of Forgetting in the Digital Age (2009). He also notes that more recently the default has changed from forgetting to remembering due to technological development and digital devices.openaire +1 more source
