Compact asymmetric sound absorber at the exceptional point
Science China Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy, 2021We present an asymmetric absorber at an exceptional point (EP) with a compact configuration and deep-subwavelength thickness. Unlike conventional side-branched sound absorbers in dual-port systems, the proposed asymmetric absorber exhibits a compact shape that is coaxial with the waveguide.

Physical and mechanical properties of endodontic absorbent paper points
Journal of Endodontics, 1981Sixty-six sizes of seven brands of endodontic absorbent paper points were evaluated to establish their physical and mechanical properties. A series of tests were to determine their dimensions (length, taper, tip diameter), absorbency, fiber-shedding propensity, and wet strength. A large variation in the properties exists between products and within any

The Concept of a Bipartite Point Absorber
1986A new wave power device is presented in the form of a bipartite point absorber. A simplified linear theory is used to demonstrate its satisfactory performance. An elaborate third-order theory however throws more light on the beneficial interactions between the composing parts, and on the strong nonlinear effects, which influence the power absorption in

A resonant point absorber of ocean-wave power
Nature, 1975VARIOUS large scale systems have been proposed for absorbing and utilising the energy carried by ocean waves1–4. In principle, such a system consists of a damped oscillator which interacts with the wave. The net result is that energy is transferred from the wave to a load.

Heaving Point Absorbers Reacting against an Internal Mass
1986A design study has been made of a wave energy converter in the form of a heaving buoy reacting against an internal moving mass. Phase control has been obtained by modulating the stiffness of the spring governing the moving mass. Promising results, agreeing closely with linear theory, have been obtained with two shapes of buoy.

Numerical method for computing the power absorbed by a phase-controlled point absorber
Applied Ocean Research, 1982In an irregular wave the phase of an oscillating point absorber can be continuously controlled by a computer-operated hold-and-release mechanism. A numerical method for computing the amount of power absorbed by such a phase-controlled device is presented and discussed.

Simulation of point absorber technology in Indian conditions
2017 IEEE International Conference on Power, Control, Signals and Instrumentation Engineering (ICPCSI), 2017As we move towards the new and clean energy for production of electrical power, we need to focus on all the alternative sources and technologies for generation of power. Seas and oceans have a greater potential of power and can be very useful for power generation.
