Monodromy of a two degrees of freedom Liouville integrable system with many focus focus singular points

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 2002
Summary: This letter deals with the global monodromy of singular Lagrangian toral fibrations defined by two degrees of freedom Liouville integrable systems with only focus-focus singular points. We show that any global monodromy matrix in \(Sl(2,\mathbb Z)\) is realizable by such a system.

Simulation of sun tracking system for point focus fresnel collector

2017 IEEE 26th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2017
This work presents simulation of a sun tracking system that was developed for a Point Focus Fresnel Collector (PFFC) installed at King Saud University. The tracker is dual axis with a concentration ratio of 160 and a small acceptance angle of 2 degrees, hence a precise tracking control is required.

Directional point-focus-beam acoustic microscope system (for materials characterization)

IEEE 1992 Ultrasonics Symposium Proceedings, 2003
A practical system of directional point-focus beam (PFB) acoustic microscopes with two functions of imaging and quantitative measurements is developed based on the authors' previous work. The construction and performance of the system are described.

Concepts and focus point for intelligent sensor systems

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 1994
Abstract This paper discusses the state-of-the-art and current trends in the design of intelligent low-cost high-performance sensor systems. In these systems the functions of the sensors, actuators, analog interfacing circuits and microcontrollers are merged in overall designs which have been implemented, where technology allows, on common substrates.

Choice model for a modular configuration of a point-focus CPV/T system

Energy and Buildings, 2015
Abstract In this paper a model for choosing the proper modular configuration of a point-focus concentrating thermo-photovoltaic (CPV/T) system according to the domestic user energy demands, is presented. The main aim is to evaluate several modular configuration solutions in terms of energy and economic performances and space occupied.

Stabilizing and tracking unstable focus points in chaotic systems using a neural network

Physics Letters A, 1995
Abstract We present a control system containing a neural network for stabilizing chaotic orbits on an unstable focus point embedded within a chaotic attractor. This control system does not require the location of the unstable focus point and the local linearized dynamics at the point.

Critical Points Near the Focus of Systems of Different Fresnel Number

Journal of Modern Optics, 1989
Abstract Lommel's theory of light focusing is here extended to an examination of the distribution of critical points near the focus of a uniform, converging, monochromatic spherical wave diffracted at a circular aperture with a range of different values of the Fresnel number.

Apodization for improving the two-point resolution of coherent optical systems with defect of focus

Applied Physics B, 2018
An amplitude apodization influenced defocused optical system used to form a coherent light illuminated two-point sources with an improved resolution is analyzed. The composite coherent image intensity distributions in the defocused and the Gaussian (Yd = 0) planes have been calculated and compared.
