Potential Early Risk Biomarkers for Reduced Forced Expiratory Volume in Children Post‐Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.

The effective potential, critical point scaling and the renormalization group

open access: yes, 1998
The desirability of evaluating the effective potential in field theories near a phase transition has been recognized in a number of different areas. We show that recent Monte Carlo simulations for the probability distribution for the order parameter in ...

Non-hermitean hamiltonians with unitary and antiunitary symmetry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We analyze several non-Hermitian Hamiltonians with antiunitary symmetry from the point of view of their point-group symmetry. It enables us to predict the degeneracy of the energy levels and to reduce the dimension of the matrices necessary for the ...

Psychosocial Outcomes in Patients With Endocrine Tumor Syndromes: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The combination of disease manifestations, the familial burden, and varying penetrance of endocrine tumor syndromes (ETSs) is unique. This review aimed to portray and summarize available data on psychosocial outcomes in patients with ETSs and explore gaps and opportunities for future research and care.

Enhancing assessments of blue carbon stocks in marsh soils using Bayesian mixed-effects modeling with spatial autocorrelation — proof of concept using proxy data

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2023
Our paper showcases the potential gain in scientific insights about blue carbon stocks (or total organic carbon) when additional rigor, in the form of a spatial autocorrelation component, is formally incorporated into the statistical model for assessing ...

Point transitive transformation groups [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1961
Abstract : Let T be an abstract group, (beta T,T) the betac mpactificati n of T regarded as a transformation group with phase group T. The collection of all point transitive transformati n groups (X,T) with compact phase space X is studied by representing each such X as a set of homomorphisms of certain subalgebras of C(beta T) into C(beta T). The Maximal Invariance Group of Newtons's Equations for a Free Point Particle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The maximal invariance group of Newton's equations for a free nonrelativistic point particle is shown to be larger than the Galilei group. It is a semi-direct product of the static (nine-parameter) Galilei group and an $SL(2,R)$ group containing time ...

Nutritional and Behavioral Intervention for Long‐Term Childhood Acute Leukemia Survivors With Metabolic Syndrome

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a common complication in survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic and myeloid leukemia (AL), and a major risk factor for premature cardiovascular disease, type‐2‐diabetes, and metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).

The group fused Lasso for multiple change-point detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We present the group fused Lasso for detection of multiple change-points shared by a set of co-occurring one-dimensional signals. Change-points are detected by approximating the original signals with a constraint on the multidimensional total variation ...

Surface field theories of point group symmetry protected topological phases

open access: yes, 2017
We identify field theories that describe the surfaces of three-dimensional bosonic point group symmetry protected topological (pgSPT) phases.
