Point-shift foliation of a point process
A point-shift $F$ maps each point of a point process $Φ$ to some point of $Φ$. For all translation invariant point-shifts $F$, the $F$-foliation of $Φ$ is a partition of the support of $Φ$ which is the discrete analogue of the stable manifold of $F$ on $Φ$.

On the Superposition of Point Processes
Summary Given point processes N1, …, Nm their superposition is the point process N defined by N(t) = N1(t) + … + Nm(t), t ≥ 0. An equivalent description of the system (N1, …, Nm) is by the process (Xn, Tn) where the Tn are the points of N, and Xn = k if and only if Tn is a point of Nk.

Markov chain Monte Carlo methods for state-space models with point process observations [PDF]
This letter considers how a number of modern Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods can be applied for parameter estimation and inference in state-space models with point process observations.

Spatial Pattern Simulation of Antenna Base Station Positions Using Point Process Techniques
Spatial statistics is a powerful tool for analyzing data that are illustrated as points or positions in a regular or non-regular state space. Techniques that are proposed to investigate the spatial association between neighboring positions are based on ...

Event sequences can be modeled by temporal point processes (TPPs) to capture their asynchronous and probabilistic nature. We propose an intensity-free framework that directly models the point process distribution by utilizing normalizing flows. This approach is capable of capturing highly complex temporal distributions and does not rely on restrictive ...

Stream-Processing Points [PDF]
With the growing size of captured 3D models it has become increasingly important to provide basic efficient processing methods for large unorganized raw surface-sample point data sets. In this paper we introduce a novel stream-based (and out-of-core) point processing framework.

Effect of Mixing on Microorganism Growth in Loop Bioreactors
The impact of mixing on the promotion of microorganism growth rate has been analyzed using a multiphase forced-circulation pipe-loop reactor model capable of identifying conditions under which it is possible to convert natural gas into Single-Cell ...

Explainable Hyperbolic Temporal Point Process for User-Item Interaction Sequence Generation [PDF]
Recommender systems which captures dynamic user interest based on time-ordered user-item interactions plays a critical role in the real-world. Although existing deep learning-based recommendation systems show good performances, these methods have two ...

Insertion and deletion tolerance of point processes [PDF]
We develop a theory of insertion and deletion tolerance for point processes. A process is insertion-tolerant if adding a suitably chosen random point results in a point process that is absolutely continuous in law with respect to the original process ...
