Improving quantification of methane point source emissions from imaging spectroscopy
Remote Sensing of Environment, 2023The matched filter (MF) method is widely used for hyperspectral imaging spectrometers to detect and quantify methane point sources due to its high computational efficiency.

Point Source Super-resolution Via Non-convex $$L_1$$ Based Methods
Journal of Scientific Computing, 2016In the super-resolution problem, one has to recover sparse signals \(x\in {\mathbb R}^N\) consisting only of separated peaks from frequency measurements up to a low frequency cutoff \(f_c\). Then \(\lambda_c = 1/f_c\) is called Rayleigh length of \(x\).

SLODAR method. Part 2: The use of point sources
Atmospheric and Oceanic Optics, 2010The SLOpes Detection And Ranging (SLODAR) method is supplemented with the theory of the measurement of the positions of aberration layers for the case of the use of point reference sources having converging/diverging wavefronts. We determine the dependence of the shift in the correlation peak on the distance to the measured aberration layer, the ...

Complex point-source representation of real point sources and the Gaussian beam summation method
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 1986A new exact representation for point sources is given in terms of complex point sources. In the simplest configuration, a point source is equivalent to a distribution of sources on the surface of a sphere in complex space. The representation can be used to consider the propagation of point disturbances through inhomogeneous media and across interfaces.

2. Point-source/point-receiver methods
2001Publisher Summary This chapter explains a suite of techniques that elicit information on the elastic properties of solids using point-like excitation and detection of ultrasound. These point-source/point-receiver (PS/PR) techniques have shown great promise in several materials' inspection and characterization applications.

A method for predicting odour frequencies from a point source
Atmospheric Environment (1967), 1972Abstract It is demonstrated that a fluctuating plume dispersion model can be used to give realistic estimates of odour frequencies around a point source, when the odour threshold of the chimney gases is determined by sensory methods ( Lindvall , 1970). The theoretical calculations are compared with observational results from a field experiment at and

Multiple point source location via infrared array processing methods
[1990] Proceedings. The Twenty-Second Southeastern Symposium on System Theory, 2002The detection and location of multiple targets in a noisy environment are considered. High-resolution direction-finding techniques have proved to be effective in radar and sonar multiple-target-location applications. In these problem domains, the data being modeled can be represented as a linear combination of fundamental signals whose behavior is ...
