Distributed point source method for eddy current modelling

Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation, 2023
Distributed point source method (DPSM) has been gradually applied to the field of nondestructive testing (NDT). As a semi-analytical modelling technique, DPSM is extremely powerful and straightforward for solving various engineering problems, such as ...

Sound field reconstruction using compressed modal equivalent point source method.

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2017
The accuracy, resolution, and economic cost of near-field acoustic holography (NAH) are highly dependent on the number of spatial sampling points. Generally, higher accuracy and resolution require more spatial sampling points, which may increase the workload of measurement or the hardware cost.

Source splitting via the point source method

Inverse Problems, 2010
We introduce a new algorithm for source identification and field splitting based on the point source method (Potthast 1998 A point-source method for inverse acoustic and electromagnetic obstacle scattering problems IMA J. Appl. Math. 61 119–40, Potthast R 1996 A fast new method to solve inverse scattering problems Inverse Problems 12 731–42).

A Point-Source Method for Sampling Soil Atmospheres

Transactions of the ASAE, 1980
ABSTRACT A point-source soil atmospheric sampler was designed and field tested. Equilibration periods of 1 h after placement were enough to achieve representative in situ samples from an agricultural silt loam soil. Vectorial variability of C02 in the horizontal direction was occa-sionally significant, whereas variability of C02 was con-sistently ...

Numerical simulation of electromagnetic acoustic transducers using distributed point source method.

Ultrasonics, 2010
In spite of many advances in analytical and numerical modeling techniques for solving different engineering problems, an efficient solution technique for wave propagation modeling of an electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) system is still missing.

Auxiliary source point method: the Laplace equation

Engineering Analysis with Boundary Elements, 1987
Abstract A new boundary collocation method is demonstrated using auxiliary source points located outside the normal boundary. It is shown that this eliminates the intermediate integration step normally found in boundary element methods and the approximating function can be found simply by a matrix inversion.
