On the duality of the potential method and the point source method in inverse scattering probelms
The authors show that two optimization methods for the scattering problem for the reduced wave equation are duals of each other. Both methods use a test domain \(G\) and find approximations to the scattered wave in \({\mathcal R}^m \backslash G\). One method involves finding the source on the unit sphere giving the fundamental solution on \(\partial G\)
