Differencing and Coadding JWST Images with Matched Point-spread Function

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We present an algorithm to derive difference images for data taken with JWST with matched point-spread functions (PSFs). It is based on the saccadic fast Fourier transform method but with revisions to accommodate the rotations and spatial variations of ...

Study of the Properties of Image Formation by an Optical System Consisting of a Diffractive Lens

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences
Diffractive lenses form images based on the principle of light diffraction, unlike conventional lenses that rely on the phenomenon of refraction to form images.

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

A Novel 3D Probe for Near-Field Scanning Microwave Microscopy

open access: yesSensors
Near-field scanning microwave microscopy (NSMM) offers the ability to probe local electromagnetic properties beyond the classical Abbe diffraction limit, but achieving high resolution over practical scan areas remains challenging.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Aperture Photometric Accuracy of Point-spread-function-deconvolved Astronomical Images

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
This paper introduces an improved Richardson–Lucy (RL) framework utilizing negative backfilling (NB) and the novel filtered image deconvolution and noise backfilling (FiDNoBa) algorithm. By integrating a low-pass prefiltering stage—specifically employing
