Hybrid Equilibrium Element Formulation for Large Displacement Nonlinear Elasticity
ABSTRACT The present paper proposes an equilibrium‐based finite element formulation for the analysis of large displacement and large strain nonlinear elasticity problems. The proposed formulation is based on the Hybrid Equilibrium Element (HEE) and is developed in an updated Lagrangian framework.

Abstract Unsustainable rates of groundwater (GW) depletion make GW management a priority. Effective GW management is hindered by the uncertainty in the predictions of aquifer models, but the increase of geodetic surface deformation data can improve aquifer characterization.

Surfaces of Revolution of Type 1 in Galilean 3-Space [PDF]
In this study, we classify surfaces of revolution of Type 1 in the three dimensional Galilean space G3 in terms of the position vector field, Gauss map, and Laplacian operator of the first and the second fundamental forms on the surface.

Flexural and Membrane Stresses in Doubly Curved Subducting Slabs
Abstract A subducting slab is a thin doubly curved shell with a complex shape that deforms in interaction with the surrounding mantle. Such a shell can deform in two distinct ways: by in‐plane stretching and shear (“membrane” deformation) and by bending and twisting (“flexural” deformation).

Robust Bernoulli Mixture Models for Credit Portfolio Risk
ABSTRACT This paper presents comparison results and establishes risk bounds for credit portfolios within classes of Bernoulli mixture models, assuming conditionally independent defaults that are stochastically increasing in a common risk factor. We provide simple and interpretable conditions on conditional default probabilities that imply a comparison ...

Tubular Surface Having Pointwise 1-type Gauss Map in Euclidean 4-Space
Summary: In this paper, we deal with a tubular surface in Euclidean 4-space \(\mathbb E^4\). We study this surface with respect to its Gauss map. We show that there is not any tubular surface having harmonic Gauss map and we give the complete classification of tubular surface having pointwise 1-type Gauss map in Euclidean 4-space \(\mathbb E^4\).

Flat surfaces in the Euclidean space E3 with pointwise 1-type Gauss map [PDF]
In this article we prove that a at nonplanar surface in the Eu- clidean space E3 with pointwise 1-type Gauss map of the second kind is either a right circular cone or a cylinder such that the curvature of the base curve satises a specic dierential ...

SOME CLASSIFICATIONS OF LORENTZIAN SURFACES WITH FINITE TYPE GAUSS MAP IN THE MINKOWSKI 4-SPACE [PDF]
In this paper we study the Lorentzian surfaces with finite type Gauss map in the four-dimensional Minkowski space. First, we obtain the complete classification of minimal surfaces with pointwise 1-type Gauss map.

ABSTRACT In this paper, we assess the performance of adaptive and nested factorized sparse approximate inverses as smoothers in multilevel V‐cycles, when smoothing is performed following the Chebyshev iteration of the fourth kind, for the efficient solution of linear systems arising from a conforming discretization of higher‐order partial differential ...
