Differentiable Randers‐Finsler Eikonal Solvers

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Fast and differentiable solvers for anisotropic and asymmetric distance fields are a key primitive in geometry processing, enabling gradient‐based optimization over metrics, drift fields, and downstream objectives that depend on geodesic distances and geodesics.

Compactly supported detail field for high quality neural implicit surfaces

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Neural implicit surfaces are a powerful tool for encoding a surface as the zero level set of a neural function. Trained using gradient‐descent based optimizers, these methods however suffer from a low‐frequency bias that prevents them to fit fine details of the surface.

Volumetric Inverse Rendering via Neural Radiative Transfer

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Volumetric inverse rendering seeks to recover the optical properties of participating media from images. Existing approaches either rely on differentiable stochastic light transport simulation, which require substantial algorithmic effort, or use simplified models that fail to capture global illumination.

Variability in Fecundity–Body Size Relationships for Atlantic Salmon Associated With Body Condition and Life History

open access: yesFisheries Management and Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT While body size is the primary driver of fecundity, other factors may contribute to variation in these relationships. Anadromous populations of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) have diverse life histories, and fisheries management relies on accurate fecundity estimates.

A Fishery‐Dependent CPUE‐Based Proxy Index for Juvenile Japanese Anchovy (Engraulis japonicus) Recruitment Variability in Southeastern Korea: Associations With Lagged Climate‐Ocean Conditions

open access: yesFisheries Oceanography, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We developed and evaluated a fishery‐dependent catch‐per‐unit‐effort (CPUE)‐based proxy index for juvenile Japanese anchovy (Engraulis japonicus) recruitment‐related variability in the southeastern coastal waters of Korea. The proxy was constructed from bimonthly CPUE of the smallest juvenile size class (20–40 mm) in the anchovy drag‐net ...
