Fast reaction limit and forward-backward diffusion: A Radon–Nikodym approach

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique, 2022
We consider two singular limits: a fast reaction limit with a non-monotone nonlinearity and a regularization of the forward-backward diffusion equation. We derive pointwise identities satisfied by the Young measure generated by these problems.

Chern forms of singular metrics on vector bundles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We study singular hermitian metrics on holomorphic vector bundles, following Berndtsson-P{\u{a}}un. Previous work by Raufi has shown that for such metrics, it is in general not possible to define the curvature as a current with measure coefficients.

On the problem with generalized operators of fractional differentiation for mixed type equation with two degeneracy lines

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2013
The nonlocal problem for mixed-type equation with perpendicular lines of degeneracy is investigated for the case when the Dirichlet condition is given on the elliptic boundary, and the generalized derivatives of the solution values on the characteristics

Pointwise stabilization of the Poisson integral for the diffusion type equations with inertia

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2016
In this paper we consider the pointwise stabilization of the Poisson integral for the diffusion type equations with inertia in the case of finite number of parabolic degeneracy groups.

The spectral shift function for compactly supported perturbations of Schr\"odinger operators on large bounded domains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We study the asymptotic behavior as L \to \infty of the finite-volume spectral shift function for a positive, compactly-supported perturbation of a Schr\"odinger operator in d-dimensional Euclidean space, restricted to a cube of side length L with ...

ON APPROXIMATION OF STATE-CONSTRAINED OPTIMAL CONTROL PROBLEM IN COEFFICIENTS FOR p-BIHARMONIC EQUATION

open access: yesJournal of Optimization, Differential Equations and Their Applications, 2018
We study a Dirichlet-Navier optimal design problem for a quasi-linear mono- tone p-biharmonic equation with control and state constraints. The coecient of the p-biharmonic operator we take as a design variable in BV ( )\L1( ).

Hidden symmetries and decay for the wave equation on the Kerr spacetime [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Energy and decay estimates for the wave equation on the exterior region of slowly rotating Kerr spacetimes are proved. The method used is a generalization of the vector-field method, which allows the use of higher-order symmetry operators. In particular,

Inverting the signature of a path [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The aim of this article is to develop an explicit procedure that enables one to reconstruct any $C^1$ path (at natural parametrization) from its signature.
