Poiseuille flow of a rarefied gas mixture

Zeitschrift für angewandte Mathematik und Physik ZAMP, 1978
The flow of a rarefied binary gas mixture is governed by transport equations which correspond to a coupled set of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind. By means of the Fourier transform technique and by expanding the transformed kernels in terms or orthogonal functions the problem is reduced to the solution of a system of linear algebraic ...

FREE AND INDUCED OSCILLATIONS IN POISEUILLE FLOW

The Quarterly Journal of Mechanics and Applied Mathematics, 1983

Rheology of particulate suspensions in a Poiseuille flow

Physical Review E, 2010
Particulate dense suspensions behave as complex fluids. They do not lend themselves easily to analytical solution. We propose an analytical model to mimic this problem. Namely, we consider arrays of long parallel plates which represent a simplification of arrays of chains of spherical particles. This simplified model can be solved analytically.

Fluid mixing by feedback in Poiseuille flow

Proceedings of the 2001 American Control Conference. (Cat. No.01CH37148), 2001
We address the problem of enhancing mixing by means of boundary feedback control in 2D channel flow. This is done by first designing feedback control strategies for the stabilization of the parabolic equilibrium flow, then applying this feedback with the sign of the input reversed.

Stable nonlinear waves in a poiseuille flow

Fluid Dynamics, 1978
Nonlinear Tolmin-Schlichting waves are studied [1–8]. The investigation is carried out by means of a modified Stuart-Watson method [1–3]. In the case of a rigid regime of excitation terms to the fifth order are taken into account in expansions with respect to the amplitude of self-excited oscillations.
