Impact of Secondary Prevention on Mortality in the Building Trades National Medical Screening Program: Effectiveness of Occupational High‐Risk Management

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Industrial Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Since 1997 the Building Trades National Medical Screening Program (BTMed) has offered medical exams to construction workers employed in US nuclear weapons facilities. The process consists of two steps: (1) a detailed work history interview; and (2) a medical exam.

From CO2 to C1 Liquid Fuels: Molecular Electrochemical Production of Formic Acid and Methanol

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Sustainable transformation of CO2 into formic acid and methanol is key to circular carbon economies and sustainable energy. These liquid C1 products are high in energy density, easy to store, and serve as hydrogen carriers and feedstocks. Electrochemical CO2 reduction provides a promising route for carbon recycling and renewable energy integration ...

Transitioning of the Chemical Industry Toward a Net‐Zero Carbon Dioxide Emission Path

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
One way to reduce the greenhouse gas footprint of the chemical industry to almost zero would be the production of the platform molecules C1‐compounds, olefins, aromatics, and ammonia by non‐fossil pathways. The rest of the chemical production chains could be essentially left unchanged, provided the process energy input is renewable.

Metal‐Organic Framework/Organocatalyst Combinations as Powerful Multicatalytic Systems for Aerobic Oxidations

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A multicatalytic strategy based on the simple combination of metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and organocatalysts is able to mediate challenging aerobic oxidation reactions. The use of earth‐abundant MOFs and commercially available (hydro)quinone co‐catalysts greatly simplify the generation of powerful multicatalytic systems, opening the door for the ...
