Prevalence of anticoagulant rodenticide poisoning in France: human and animal data

open access: yesJulius-Kühn-Archiv, 2011
Anticoagulant rodenticides have been used for over 50 years to control rodent populations. Since their first introduction, resistance developed in rodents, and second generation products, more active but also more toxic, have been marketed.

Artesunate Ameliorates APAP‐induced Liver Injury by Promoting NEDD4L‐Mediated Ubiquitination and Degradation of TXNIP

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Liver injury can lead to severe acute liver failure and even death in patients. Artesunate (ART), which is a derivative of artemisinin that has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of malaria, has significant regulatory effects on cell death and inflammation.

Fast-spectrum space-power-reactor concepts using boron control devices [PDF]

open access: yes
Several fast-spectrum space power reactor concepts that use boron carbide control devices were examined to determine the neutronic feasibility of the designs. The designs considered were (1) a 199-fuel-pin, 12-poison-reflector-control-drum reactor; (2) a

The Importance of Metal‐Organic Framework Linker Atoms for CO2 Reduction: A DFT Study

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using DFT, we examine the role of linker atoms in CO2 reduction on copper‐based metal organic frameworks (Cu MOFs). Our calculations reveal that linker atoms may serve as both CO2 and H‐shuttling sites and suggest linker electrostatics as a descriptor for linker activity. ABSTRACT Although the metal within the secondary building unit of a metal‐organic

Epidemiology and Clinical Characteristics of Acute Plant Exposure in Patients Aged between 0 and 18 Years—A Six-Year Retrospective Study

open access: yesChildren
Background: Exposure to plants accounts for approximately 5% of human poisoning cases reported by poison control centers in North America and Europe. The aim of this study was to investigate acute plant poisoning in patients aged 0–18 years admitted to a

Sertoli Cell‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles Orchestrate Cadmium‐Induced Testicular Inflammation and Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Environmental cadmium exposure disrupts testicular homeostasis through a novel intercellular communication axis. Stressed Sertoli cells release extracellular vesicles carrying damage‐associated molecular patterns and mitochondrial fragments, which activate macrophages via TLR4/NF‐κB signaling.
