Comparison of Scoring Rules in Poisson Voting Games [PDF]

open access: yes
Scoring rules are compared by the equilibria that they generate for simple elections with three candidates and voters drawn from large Poisson distributions. A calculus for comparing pivot probabilities in Poisson voting games is applied. For a symmetric

Metal Oxide Nano‐Interface Boosting the Deep Ultraviolet Adjustable Noise‐Filtering In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We show that sol‐gel‐fractured indium–magnesium oxide combines deep‐ultraviolet responsivity, high carrier mobility, and an excellent memory dynamic range. This unique materials platform enables deep‐ultraviolet long‐afterglow light‐emitting devices with multifunctional integration.

Acceleration as refrigeration: acceleration-driven spontaneous symmetry breaking in thermal medium

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We argue that a uniform acceleration of matter produces an effect similar to cooling, thus leading, in particular, to the enhancement effect of spontaneous symmetry breaking. This conclusion is supported by the observation by Unruh and Weiss that thermal

Distributions of Functionals of the two Parameter Poisson-Dirichlet Process [PDF]

open access: yes
The present paper provides exact expressions for the probability distribution of linear functionals of the two–parameter Poisson–Dirichlet process. Distributional results that follow from the application of an inversion formula for a (generalized) Cauchy–

Transient Cytoskeletal Anisotropy Encodes Short‐Term Mechanical Memory in Glioblastoma Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The same mechanical deformation can produce distinct cytoskeletal states depending on loading history. Experiments and constitutive modeling reveal that transient actin–vimentin anisotropy stores mechanical information and governs short‐term mechanical memory in glioblastoma cells.

First Passage Time of Filtered Poisson Process with Exponential Shape Function [PDF]

open access: yes
Solving some integro-differential equation we find the Laplace transformation of the first passage time for Filtered Poisson Process generated by pulses with uniform or exponential distributions.

Elastomeric 3D‐Printed Microenvironments Enable Nanonewton Force Measurements in Healthy and Diseased Human Pluripotent Stem Cell‐Derived Neuroepithelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We present elastomeric three‐dimensional (3D) microstructures fabricated via two‐photon polymerization (2PP) and post‐processed through wet etching, for quantifying nanonewton (nN)‐scale forces applied by healthy and diseased neural cells. The mechanically characterized free‐standing beam architectures enable measurement of traction forces of ...

ON DOUBLE PERIODIC NON-HOMOGENEOUS POISSON PROCESSES [PDF]

open access: yes
Non-homogenous Poisson processes with periodic claim intensity rate are proposed as the claim counting process of risk theory. We introduce a doubly periodic Poisson model with short and long term trends, illustrated by a double-beta intensity function ...

A Universal van der Waals Tunneling Injector for Monolayer CMOS

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A universal van der Waals injector unlocks polarity‐flexible tunneling contacts for monolayer CMOS. SnSe2, an intrinsically degenerate 2D semiconductor, establishes polarity‐specific band alignments with both WSe2 and MoS2 channels, enabling steep switching, high on/off ratios, and a unified route to low‐power 2D logic.
