On Particle Learning

open access: yes, 2010
This document is the aggregation of six discussions of Lopes et al. (2010) that we submitted to the proceedings of the Ninth Valencia Meeting, held in Benidorm, Spain, on June 3-8, 2010, in conjunction with Hedibert Lopes' talk at this meeting, and of a ...

Effect of the generalized uncertainty principle on Galilean and Lorentz transformations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) was obtained in string theory and quantum gravity and suggested the existence of a fundamental minimal length which, as was established, can be obtained within the deformed Heisenberg algebra.

Testing biodegradable interventions to disrupt plant–animal feedbacks and promote seagrass establishment

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 1, January 2026.
Biogeochemical and physical feedbacks are well known to prevent ecosystem recovery even after initial disturbance factors are mitigated. However, multi‐trophic interactions that may maintain disturbed areas have received less attention, despite their potential importance in mediating restoration success. In this study, we surveyed stingray feeding pits

Varying vulnerabilities: Seagrass species under threat from prolonged ocean warming

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 70, Issue S2, Page S432-S447, December 2025.
Abstract Understanding the response of various seagrass species to prolonged elevated water temperatures is crucial for effective management and seagrass species restoration amid increasing climate change‐induced ocean warming and marine heat waves. This is especially important in intertidal seagrass meadows, where heat can penetrate substrate depths ...

Unexpected consequences of taxonomic misidentification for the conservation of an endangered species

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, Volume 7, Issue 12, December 2025.
This article reports on the unexpected consequences of taxonomic misidentification of the endangered fir Abies hickelii in eastern Mexico. Misidentification led to positive outcomes, such as unintentional population increases through reforestation, but also negative outcomes, including logging and altered demographic structure.

Contamination en PCB chez les poissons. Région marine Manche Atlantique

open access: yes, 2023
