On double periodic non-homogeneous poisson processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Non-homogenous Poisson processes with periodic claim intensity rate are proposed as the claim counting process of risk theory. We introduce a doubly periodic Poisson model with short and long term trends, illustrated by a double-beta intensity function ...

Tractable nonparametric Bayesian inference in Poisson processes with Gaussian process intensities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The inhomogeneous Poisson process is a point process that has varying intensity across its domain (usually time or space). For nonparametric Bayesian modeling, the Gaussian process is a useful way to place a prior distribution on this intensity.

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

MODEL EKSPONENSIAL GANDA PADA PROSES STOKASTIK (STUDI KASUS DI STASIUN PURWOSARI)

open access: yesMedia Statistika, 2015
In general, mathematical modeling is divided into two, namely the model of deterministic and stochastic models. On stochastic modeling involves several processes among them are the Poisson process, the process of Bernoulli, Gaussian processes, the ...

Analytical and Numerical Solution of a Poisson RBC model [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper analyses a RBC model in continuous time featuring deterministic incremental development of technology and stochastic fundamental inventions arriving according to a Poisson process.

Stein's method and Poisson process approximation for a class of Wasserstein metrics

open access: yes, 2009
Based on Stein\’s method, we derive upper bounds for Poisson process approximation in the L1-Wasserstein metric d (p) 2 , which is based on a slightly adapted Lp-Wasserstein metric between point measures.

Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

Experimental and Numerical Modal Analysis of Composite Sandwich Structures Using Surfboards as Model Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents an experimental and numerical modal investigation of composite sandwich structures using surfboards as model systems. By comparing different core materials and reinforcement strategies, the study demonstrates how local stiffeners influence vibrational response and introduce characteristic modal features, highlighting modal ...
