Design of a Bacteriophage-Based Product for Biocontrol of Fire Blight and Black Rot. [PDF]
Phytopathogenic bacteria threaten crops, and while chemical pesticides are effective, they harm ecosystems. Bacteriophages like ɸEF1, ɸEF2 and ɸXF1 show promise as biocontrol agents. They remain stable at 4°C and 20°C under neutral conditions, with stability enhanced by additives like CaCO3, improving field effectiveness for ecological and sustainable ...

Injection Molding Plastic Solar Cells
Organic photovoltaic modules embedded into plastic parts through high throughput injection molding are demonstrated here for the first time. The modules injected with thermoplastic polyurethane show enhanced mechanical stability while keeping a high flexibility, with neglectable efficiency losses and a remarkable process yield close to 90%.

Estimating the cumulative impact and zone of influence of anthropogenic features on biodiversity
Abstract The concept of cumulative impacts is widespread in policy documents, regulations and ecological studies, but quantification methods are still evolving. Infrastructure development usually takes place in landscapes with preexisting anthropogenic features. Typically, their impact is determined by computing the distance to the nearest feature only,

Microstructure and Wear Resistance in Medium and High C Steels Treated by Quenching and Partitioning
The microstructure, hardness, and wear resistance of two medium and high C steels heat treated by quenching and partitioning treatment are studied and compared with quenched and tempered steels. The influence of the mechanical stability of austenite under the applied wear test conditions is analyzed and related to the wear behavior.

Tantalum Capacitor Separation from Waste Printed Circuit Boards with Molten Salt or Metal
Tantalum is currently not recycled from waste printed circuit boards. A process is demonstrated on the pilot scale using either molten metal or salt, which shows promise in separating tantalum capacitors from printed circuit boards and offering a recycling route for tantalum.
