Spaceborne Polarimetric SAR Interferometry: Performance Analysis and Mission Concepts [PDF]

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2005
We investigate multichannel imaging radar systems employing coherent combinations of polarimetry and interferometry (Pol-InSAR). Such systems are well suited for the extraction of bio- and geophysical parameters by evaluating the combined scattering ...

Polarimetric Time-Series InSAR for Surface Deformation Monitoring in Mining Area Using Dual-Polarization Data [PDF]

open access: yesSensors
Timely and reliable surface deformation monitoring is critical for hazard prevention and resource management in mining areas. However, traditional Time-Series Interferometric (TSI) Synthetic Aperture Radar techniques often suffer from low coherent point ...

Antarctic snow-covered sea ice topography derivation from TanDEM-X using polarimetric SAR interferometry [PDF]

open access: yesThe Cryosphere, 2021
Single-pass interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) enables the possibility for sea ice topographic retrieval despite the inherent dynamics of sea ice. InSAR digital elevation models (DEMs) are measuring the radar scattering center height.

EVALUATION OF AIRBORNE L- BAND MULTI-BASELINE POL-INSAR FOR DEM EXTRACTION BENEATH FOREST CANOPY [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2018
DEM beneath forest canopy is difficult to extract with optical stereo pairs, InSAR and Pol-InSAR techniques. Tomographic SAR (TomoSAR) based on different penetration and view angles could reflect vertical structure and ground structure.

Pol-InSAR sensitivity to hemi-boreal forest structure at L- and P-bands

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation, 2021
A dual-frequency approach is proposed to discriminate hemi-boreal forest species using L- and P-band data. First, it is shown that L-band is less sensitive to the forest structure than P-band.

Forest Height Estimation by Means of TanDEM-X InSAR and Waveform Lidar Data

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2021
Model-based forest height inversion from Pol-InSAR data relies on the realistic parameterization of the underlying (vertical) radar reflectivity function.

LabSAR, a one-GCP coregistration tool for SAR–InSAR local analysis in high-mountain regions

open access: yesFrontiers in Remote Sensing, 2022
The coregistration of single-look complex (SLC) SAR images for InSAR or offset tracking applications is often performed by using an accurate DEM and precise orbital information. However, in cold regions, such DEMs are rare over high-latitude areas or not
