The Conformal Bootstrap: Theory, Numerical Techniques, and Applications

open access: yes, 2019
Conformal field theories have been long known to describe the fascinating universal physics of scale invariant critical points. They describe continuous phase transitions in fluids, magnets, and numerous other materials, while at the same time sit at the

Varying the Energy Mix in the EU-28 and in Poland as a Step towards Sustainable Development

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
The demand for clean energy is a key global issue requiring global ideas to be implemented through local action. This is particularly important in Poland’s energy transition, since the country produces energy mainly from conventional sources, i.e., coal,

Asymptotics of Discrete MDL for Online Prediction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Minimum Description Length (MDL) is an important principle for induction and prediction, with strong relations to optimal Bayesian learning. This paper deals with learning non-i.i.d. processes by means of two-part MDL, where the underlying model class is

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

HISTORICAL MINING REMAINS PRESERVED IN THE PRESENT-DAY RELIEF OF THE EUROPEAN HERCYNIAN MOUNTAINS – CASE STUDIES FROM HOLY CROSS MOUNTAINS (POLAND) AND ARDENNES (BELGIUM) [PDF]

open access: yesActa Geobalcanica, 2020
The historical anthropopressure on Polish (Old Polish Industrial District) and Belgian (Ardennes) iron ore mining fields led to create very clear relief transformations. These post-mining forms have different arrangement and size.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.
