Novel polar-coded space-time transmit diversity scheme over Rician fading MIMO channels
In this paper, a polar-coded space-time transmit diversity (STTD) scheme is proposed in order to improve the performance of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system.

A method for efficiently constructing polar codes is presented and analyzed. Although polar codes are explicitly defined, straightforward construction is intractable since the resulting polar bit-channels have an output alphabet that grows exponentially ...

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...

Polarization-based puncturing pattern selection of shortened Polar code
In order to solve the problem of inflexible Polar code length,a new puncturing pattern selection scheme based on feedback cost puncturing was proposed to generate shortened Polar codes. In this scheme, the Polarization effect was reserved, the sub-optimal ...

Universal Polar Codes for More Capable and Less Noisy Channels and Sources
We prove two results on the universality of polar codes for source coding and channel communication. First, we show that for any polar code built for a source $P_{X,Z}$ there exists a slightly modified polar code - having the same rate, the same encoding

Binary polar code kernels from code decompositions [PDF]
Code decompositions (a.k.a code nestings) are used to design good binary polar code kernels. The proposed kernels are in general non-linear and show a better rate of polarization under successive cancelation decoding, than the ones suggested by Korada et al., for the same kernel dimensions.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...
