ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Arctic shipping 2013–2022: the traffic has grown, with big variation between regions, seasons and ship types

open access: yes
This article analyses decadal changes in Arctic ship traffic from 2013 to 2022, using data from the Arctic Ship Traffic Data system (ASTD). Shipping in waters affected by sea ice has grown, but how much depends on geographical definitions. The Polar Code

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Polar Code for Future 60 GHz Millimeter-Wave Communications

open access: yes, 2015
With high operating frequencies and high emission power, 60 GHz millimeter communications may suffer seriously from realistic hardware impairments. Among this, nonlinear power amplifier (PA) will significantly degrade its transmission performance.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Serially Concatenated Polar Codes

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Simulation results show that the performance of polar codes is improved vastly by using polar codes as inner codes in serially concatenated coding schemes.

Polar Code Parameter Recognition Algorithm Based on Dual Space

open access: yes, 2022
To improve the performance of polar code parameter recognition in the fields of intelligent communication, communication detection, and network countermeasures, we propose a new recognition scheme for the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. The

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

The Polar Code (Comments in Foreign Legal Sources)

open access: yes, 2015
The paper addresses the content of a new International document - the International Code for Ships Operating in Polar Waters- in the context of foreign teachings on the subject. Special attention is devoted to the legal significance of the Polar Code and
