Algebraic Construction of Structurally Shaped Polar Codes
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2021Shaped polar codes were recently proposed to improve the spectral efficiency of polar coded modulation, based on probabilistic shaping. The key principle for them is to adjust the probability of occurrence of 1’s in each codeword by introducing the shaping bits, which makes the distribution of modulated symbols close to the Gaussian distribution.

Mixed-Kernels Constructions of Polar Codes
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2016Mixed kernels of polar codes are mapping functions having inputs of different alphabet sizes that are used to construct polar coding scheme. These schemes are constructed by incorporating several (homogeneous) kernels, each one over different alphabet size. In this paper, the idea of mixed-kernels construction is introduced and analyzed.

Channel-aware construction of polar codes
2016 2nd IEEE International Conference on Computer and Communications (ICCC), 2016The conventional construction of polar codes is designed in advance for a specific channel, the performance of polar codes deteriorates if the construction does not match the current channel. In other words, we suffer from performance loss when either a time-variant channel or an inaccurate estimation of channel are considered.

Polar Codes Construction for Fading Channels
2018 IEEE 18th International Conference on Communication Technology (ICCT), 2018In this paper, we investigate the polar coding for fading channels, in which due to the limitation of practical channel estimation methods, some estimation below the limit is unreliable at the receiver. To mitigate the mischief of unreliable observations, the log-likelihood ratio (LLR) of the unreliable estimates is initialized with 0.

A Construction of lattices from polar codes
2012 IEEE Information Theory Workshop, 2012We employ polar codes as the building blocks of Construction D to construct lattices for the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. The construction of these component polar codes is based on the idea of Pedarsani et al. for binary-input memoryless symmetric (BMS) channels.

Hybrid Multi-Kernel Construction of Polar Codes
2019 IEEE 89th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2019-Spring), 2019A new family of multi-kernel polar codes are proposed. Instead of using identical matrices in each stage, assigning different constituent matrices to different virtual channels based on their properties will further improve polarization performance and error rate performance.

A Practical Construction Method for Polar Codes
IEEE Communications Letters, 2014In this paper, a practical construction method is proposed for polar codes over binary-input channels. Unlike the existing construction methods, we use a Bhattacharyya parameter bound to select the bit-channels over which the information bits are transmitted.

Investigation of Polarization Weight -an Efficient Construction for Polar Codes
2018 IEEE 87th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2018Polarization weight (PW) is a novel construction method for polar codes, which results in universal reliability ordering efficiently and yields imilar performance as other channel dependent construction methods. In this paper, we interpret PW method or algorithm from a rate allocation perspective of channel polarization to show its effectiveness.

Polar code construction using the information bottleneck method
2018 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference Workshops (WCNCW), 2018The provably capacity-achieving error-correction capability of polar codes prospered huge interest in academia and industry. The explicit structure of polar codes leads to a different notion of code construction which refers to the assignment of information bits to certain positions in that structure instead of the design of the structure itself.
