Optimal polarizations of simple compound targets

The optimal polarization properties of simple extended targets are investigated for the purpose of assessing the usefulness of polarization concepts to target classification. It is found that for large targets with unresolved scattering centers, the polarization null and maximum loci as functions of aspect are usually very complex.
