Holocene shoreline displacement at Agardhbukta, eastern Spitsbergen, Svalbard [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
An emergence curve based on nine radiocarbon dated samples of mosses, shells, whale bones and driftwood has been constructed for Agardhbukta. Beach sediments and delta deposits were found up to c.

A contribution to the understanding of percolation phenomena in binary liquids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In the present work it was shown the important role of the Ei/E parameter in the characterization of polar liquids. It could be demonstrated that the application of the broad range dielectric spectroscopy together with the analysis of the quasi-static ...

Occurrence of pumice on raised beaches and Holocene shoreline displacement in the inner Isfjorden area, Svalbard [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Finds of pumice on raised beaches in the inner Isfjorden area are reported. Pumice is abundant in two zones, and four levels can be distinguished in some areas. The highest lying level has the greatest concentration of pumice and is dated to a maximum of

On polar relative normalizations of ruled surfaces

open access: yesUniversal Journal of Mathematics and Applications, 2018
This paper deals with skew ruled surfaces in the Euclidean space $\mathbb{E}^{3}$ which are equipped with polar normalizations, that is, relative normalizations such that the relative normal at each point of the ruled surface lies on the corresponding ...

Polar transform and local positivity for curves [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales de la Faculté des sciences de Toulouse : Mathématiques, 2020
Using the duality of positive cones, we show that applying the polar transform from convex analysis to local positivity invariants for divisors gives interesting and new local positivity invariants for curves. These new invariants have nice properties similar to those for divisors.

Topological invariants of plane curve singularities: Polar quotients and Lojasiewicz gradient exponents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, we study polar quotients and Łojasiewicz exponents of plane curve singularities, which are not necessarily reduced. We first show that, for complex plane curve singularities, the set of polar quotients is a topological invariant.

Prey composition and feeding rate of Sagitta elegans var. arctica (chaetognatha) in the Barents Sea in early summer [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Sagitta elegans var. arctica, the dominant and locally abundant chaetognath in the Barents sea, was collected from the upper 50 m in Arctic water masses during an ice edge bloom in early summer 1983. In situ sampling was made along a transect at discrete

ESTIMATION OF VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION OF CHLOROPHYLL a OFF EAST HOKKAIDO BY GAUSSIAN CURVE FITTING (15th Symposium on Polar Biology) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
P(論文)Sea truth data on the concentration of chlorophyll pigments were used to determine the empirical relationship between surface chlorophyll a concentration and parameters derived from a Gaussian curve for a possible development of a local algorithm of
