Polar Intermetallic Fe/Co/Ni-rich Germanides and Silicides: Synthesis and Characterization
Polar intermetallic compounds are a special class in solid state chemistry. Due to the variety of crystal structures, they can have interesting physical properties and some of them are even superconducting. In this work, Fe/Co/Ni-rich silicides and germanides were investigated.

XAHRM‐Lab First Results and πXRF First View of UFe4Al8 and UFe10Si2
ABSTRACT Following the installation of the Laboratory for the Characterization and Speciation of Aerosols (LCEA) in 2008, and the confirmation of High Resolution Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (HiREDS) as a much promising development for X‐ray Emission Spectrometry in general and Particle Induced X‐ray Emission (PIXE) in particular, the installation of

Oxidation of Intermetallic Al–Fe–Mo Phases
The oxidation of ternary intermetallic phases reveals the initial selective oxidation to Al2O3 and a phase segregation into AlMo3 and AlFe. Fe‐rich molybdates result from an intermediate metallothermic redox reaction involving AlFe. Thermal oxidation processes of Al9‐xFexMo3 intermetallic phases are investigated by thermogravimetry, in situ X‐ray ...

High‐Pressure Synthesis and Chemical Bonding of Mg3BiN
The anti‐perovskite Mg3BiN is obtained by high‐pressure high‐temperature reaction of Mg–Bi mixture with boron nitride serving as crucible material. The compound is electron precise with essentially ionic bonding, and DOS calculations indicate semiconducting behavior.

This study investigates the tribological response of 60NiTi alloy under dry, water‐lubricated and high‐temperature conditions. The alloy exhibits decreasing wear volume and friction with increasing temperature due to the formation of protective oxide layers. The work clarifies dominant wear mechanisms and demonstrates the suitability of 60NiTi for high‐
